Ray F. Sandy

Ray F. Sandy, age 72, passed away peacefully at home with his family, on November 2, 2024. Ray was born to Leona (Willis) Sandy and Albert (Bert) Sandy on September 27, 1952.  Ray graduated from Pateros High School in 1970. He married his wife, Sheryl Kinney, on April 13, 1974, in Caldwell, Idaho.

He was a union carpenter until he retired.  He worked mostly in Wenatchee, also on Chief

Joseph Dam, Pateros High School, Brewster High School, Chelan Hospital, Central Washington Hospital, and Confluence Health Hospital.  He was a member of the Pateros Community Church; he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He also was a member of the Pateros Volunteer Fire Department and Douglas/Okanogan County Fire District 15, He also was an Engine Boss for Methow River Wildfire in the summers for Bill Duguay.

Ray loved spending time with his family and friends, firefighting, working hard, helping others, playing his guitars, and hunting and fishing with his boys and friends. He enjoyed a Wednesday morning Men's Bible study and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Bert Sandy; mother, Leona Sandy; niece, Rachel Sandy; nephew, Raymond Sandy; and grandchild, Taylor Sandy.  Ray is survived by his wife, Sheryl Sandy; three sons: Josh Sandy, Nathan (Shawna) Sandy, and Matthew (Chandra) Sandy; granddaughter, Haley Sandy; grandson, Jacob Sandy; brother, Ryan Sandy; sister, Connie (Junior) Darbin; along with many other family and friends.
